That's what I'm hoping for, Mike. It would do a world of good for the team morale, too - after losing 3 out of 4 to the Nats.

Did anyone else catch them say that Bobby had dropped Andruw from 4th to 6th for game 2 before his "back" acted up?
I get the pfeeling that Mr. Thorman is going to called into the principal's opfice pfor a talk with Mr. Cox about that play in the pfipfth. He might get a date in kangaroo court in pfront of Judge Smoltz, complete with pfine, as well.

What do we do??
It would have been ungodly to have had a big inning in the 9th like the Phillies did today - to send us off with some good momentum for the road. We really need another dominant SP. McCann hasn't been the same since getting hit in the hand - we have too many weak spots - and yet, we cannot afford to get further behind in the standings. We excelled in suckitude this series. ![]()

This series was horrible — the Phillies are only two games back now, and suddenly I feel as if we are in a fight with them for the Wild Card, instead of struggling to maintain a division lead.
A series quite depressing; at least I get to watch them play in person next weekend when they come up here to play the Cubs. |

Written while trying to ignore the fact that we've lost 9 of 13 and Macay ****ing McBride is our primary lefty reliever...
What in the hell was Chip talking about in the 8th inning? I don't remember the exact quote, but it was something along the lines of "We're seeing why the Braves, like the Phillies, loaded up on starting pitching this winter." Really?!?!? We went into spring training with 6 "starters" (I use the word loosely in Cormier's case) fighting for 5 positions... Smoltz, Hudson, Hampton, James, Davies, and Cormier. Didn't we have all 6 of those guys last year? Of course, we went and got Redman out of his basement where his neighbour was crushing the ball off of him when Hampton got hurt, but lemme tell ya... if that's loading up on starting pitching, please God, don't ever let us do that again.
