Default Hampton goes down

From braves.com / rotoworld :

Quote:
Mike Hampton fell to the ground in pain after injuring his left side in batting practice Thursday. The Braves believe he either broke a rib or suffered a strained oblique.

Either way, he's going to miss the start of the season. He was already behind this spring, but he was scheduled to make his debut in an inning Saturday. With Hampton out, it looks like both Kyle Davies and Lance Cormier will have rotation spots to begin the year. Maybe Matt Harrison could beat out one of the two with a truly impressive March. Oscar Villarreal is likely to be left in the pen.
Awesome news...............

XM Update just said (probably speculation) that it was probable that the Braves would start exploring trade options for a veteran arm. I think that is probably not knowing the Braves minor leagues, but you never know. I do know this... the rumors above Pavano now are a big concern to me. Why trade one injury riddled pitcher for another?

Well Pavano seems to be fully healthy now and If the Yankees were willing to eat most of the salary I would for sure take Pavano.

I would perfer to let Harrison take the spot but if thats not an option then Pavano would be fine with me as long as we dont give up a top prospect.

Something centered around Lerew would be fine with me

I'm all for anything (almost) that keeps Lance Cormier out of our rotation.
