After facing live hitters for the first time, Hampton was seemingly cautiously optimistic about his chances of pitching during the first week of Grapefruit League games. He's still feeling slight discomfort in his surgically repaired elbow and it's obvious that there's still a sense of uneasiness.
Is this something to worry about? Should there still be discomfort? Should I quit reading articles about the Braves???? ![]() Last edited by jecqua; 02-22-2007 at 11:31 AM. Reason: edit: don't know how to do the quotation thingy on here yet... |

I think that there is something to worry about if Hampton is feeling discomfort in any way after his surgery. However, there are two things that I think substantially mitigate the worry: I think that Cox will not pitch him hard; especially during his first few outings; and second, I think Mike is aware that his career could very well be on the line if he pushes too hard.
As for whether he should still be feeling discomfort, that I don't know. Please keep right on reading those articles; you were the first to alert me of these things in your opening post, and I for one appreciate it, Jecqua. |

The sick side of me hopes he doesn't come back until midseaon so I can go to the other place and make fun of all those who said they were confident he'd come back strong. Along with those who think Hudson will be great and those year and think Kelly Johnson will be a star at leadoff and second base.
Of course, I'd get flamed for being a negative Nellie for even suggesting they won't work out as hoped. Sorry, sometimes i just like to vent about things. |
