Hmmm

1. I think everyone is underestimating Scott Thorman. He's got a good eye at the plate and has enormous power. The defense could be questionable, but it's not like Furcal's out there anymore.

2. Kelly Johnson would be a great fit in the lineup again. Just stay away from the streakiness. I'm not sure I like him at the lead-off spot though.

3. I'm sorry, but the outfield corners scare the hell out of me. Jeff, for heaven's sake, just because you can swing at a pitch heading towards the Braves dugout (at home), it doesn't you have to. I do not think I have ever seen anyone with such a lack of plate discipline. It's not like this wasn't apparent in the minors. Langerhans may have a glove, but seriously, he's not a starter. Craig Wilson could be starting by May 15th. I like Diaz, but I'm not sure what to think of him. At one point, he's a world beater and the next he's a nice 4th outfielder. Gregor Blanco has mucho speed and could be a decent lead-off guy, but those strikeouts really sting.

4. So, right now you are looking at a rotation of Smoltz, Hudson, Hampton, and James. Two lefties, two righties. If Davies doesn't show anything, well... that cupboard is starting to look bare. You have a lot counting on arms that haven't been known to be very stable.

5. But, hey the bullpen looks good, right?
