LOL -- What, you mean you weren't initiating a discussion on the impact of Smoltzie's personal life on the debate as to whether he should Start or Close??
Hmmm....maybe that's it. She wants him to go back to Closing so he doesn't have to show up so early to the Park, and he wants to keep Starting. I think we've hit upon something, 22!! |

I hate to say it, but it always irks me even more when it is one of these super-religious types. I remember a few years back when Smoltz made anti-gay comments. They weren't anything especially hatefull, but they didn't leave a good impression. IIRC, Jesus spoke out a lot more about the sanctity of marriage than he ever did about homosexuality.
Smoltz is still far and away my favorite pitcher on the Braves, but I think this is another example of why it is important to look at these guys strictly as baseball players rather than hold them up as role models. |
