Default Fan Day!

This Saturday is fan day! I hate throngs of crowds and generally feel sorry for players when they have to do these kinds of things, but I'm laying all that aside and going with some close friends of mine (one of whom plans to steal Brian McCann, ha). I'm not usually into the rah-rah drooling over players (they're just human beings, right?), but I have to admit I'm getting a little excited about this.

Is anyone else going?

I might drive up if they have cheerleader appreciation day! Seriously though, are all the Braves going to participate or just the newbies who are trying to get some publicity? Hope you and your friends have a great time, Shimmer!

Hey Shim, I will be there. I have to leave early because I, unfortunately, am the closing manager at my restuarant that night. Should be fun. Hopefully KJ will be signing in the first group from 11am-1pm.

KJ made an appearance at Publix with Blaine Boyer and Terry Pendleton down here a couple of weeks ago. When I saw him I was stunned - he's SO small!! And Blaine Boyer is a beast in person.

And Diceman - Thanks. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun. We always do when we're together. Nothin' like a bunch of good ol' southern girls to stir up a little trouble.

Nope, I will not be working at the Ted this year, atleast for right now. My job won't allow it. I am workig about 50 hours a week bouncing between 2 of the restuarants in our company. When I am able to make it down to the stadium this season I wanna be able to relax and enjoy the game. It will be weird not working there. It will be a first since I moved here.

And Shim, I have met KJ a couple times (even took a picture with him) and while I thought he was thinner than he looks on tv, I still thought he was rather big. Or maybe that is just because I am 2 feet tall. lol

Well at 5'3, it's not like I'm a monster in height. That said, I used to assume that players were regular sized Joes. Then when I lived in San Diego I (literally) ran into Ryan Klesko at Sports Authority. He's a BEAST! Since then, the scale on which I judge players has changed. For a regular guy, KJ is pretty good sized, though way too thin. For a baseball player, he's eensy weensy.

It's weird judging basketball players, too. I ran into Tyler Hansbrough this past Fall in Chapel Hill. He doesn't look anywhere near 6'9" in person.

Normally I would not disagree with you, Mikey, but you might want to reconsider that statement after losing to the Pack today.

They looked past the Pack and Paid for it.... And it did not hurt that the Wolfies shot 77% in the second half.
I know some Heels that will be puking their guts up soon because of the crappy defensive effort in the second half.
Better have that "A" Game Wednesday night or it'll be a blow out at the DOOKIES house too.

As a Tarheel fan, there are two givens. If the Pack beats us there wil be one of two things to happen. They will either have someone have a career day behind the 3 point line or shoot lights out and kill us in percentage. Yesterday we got both! Fells could have shot from Hillsbourgh Street and made one and to beat a team that shoots 60+ percent for the game (and 77 for the 2nd as Mike pointed out). These things used to bother me. One day I realized that win or lose, no one from UNC was paying the bills in my house, so I could be upset about a loss, but just don't let them bother me any longer.

I say let the loss to State serve as motivation to cream the friggin' Dookies in their own house.

Keep in mind that I'm a Jackets fan, and have merely picked Carolina as my favorite local team, but I'd much rather them lose to State than to %#@#$!#$ Dook.

Personally, I have no ire toward State -- in fact I kind of like them. It's just that 20% of their fan base that gets on my ever-lovin' nerves.
