I'd like to talk about how we go about this.
I used to post 30 minutes before first pitch or when yahoo!.com got the starting lineups...WHICHEVER CAME FIRST. I don't have the time to do this every game anymore. My job is...just....wacky. It's one of the reasons I kinda stopped doing them: I just couldn't live up to my own hype, such as it was. While I miss the panic'ed typing to write something entertaining in 5 minutes before the 30 minute thingie, there will be many times I won't get something up. All I ask, is the game thread not start until 30 minutes before first pitch. One of the things that drove me off of the BS place, besides BS, was the HTML newbies, who were long on graphics...but short on substance. AND they wasted a barge-load of bandwidth. I cannot claim the game thread for my own since it was NadoBrave's idea. It was never mine and never will be. I would only ask that ya'll maybe say something about this Game, this Great Game that we Love So, something that pays tribute to the reason why we've found each other in this place, this place where we met at first, then were cast from, yet found our way back to. But I digress......

Yes...man-law... as he opens up a beer for breakfast
EDIT: A thought for Mike T... I have seen on some other forums thru the net, where they have a sub-forum for game threads. Just a thought so the game threads would stay in one place. |

I have no problem with a time limit on starting game threads. One time last year I went on the site around 2:00 and saw a four page game thread. I ran to my TV to turn on the game and couldn't find it. I looked in the papaer and saw it was scheduled for the normal 6:30 start time. Someone had started a thread over four hours before the game.
I'm no wordsmith so I won't start a thread since i have no great musings to muse about. I do have one request. Would it be OK to start threads about something that happened in the game? It always drove me crazy when people would start a thread to complain about an incident and it be shut down with the PUT ALL COMMENTS IN GAME THREAD notation. Since this board isn't that busy yet and we don't have five permament sticky threads at the top we should have room for sideline discussions about game related topics. |

All I will try to get a sub-forum made for game threads if that is what we need to do.
I have always enjoyed the game threads especially when Horsie starts them. Some thought they were a problem but they were always a joy to me and I would participate til Shanks took over the board there then I just moved on. This not to say that someone else can't start them but I for one vote for Horsie to start as many as his schedule will allow.Okay I'll crawl back in my hole now..
