Default Favorite Post Season Memory

Since this site is a throwback to old times, I figured what better way to start a board than with a little reminiscing? So what's your favorite post season memory?

1995 not withstanding, I'd have to say 1999 is my favorite overall post season. First, I'm young - so I can't much remember before 1995. But I have to say that the NLDS against the Houston Astros was amazing. That's when Bobby Cox first started playing starters in the bullpen. John Smoltz got his first save. John Rocker came on bases loaded with nobody out. Walt Weiss made an incredible stop at short, and we got out of the inning unscathed. Bobby Cox left Kevin McGlinchy out to rot in NY in the pouring down rain. Ventura scored that grand slam single to send the series back to Atlanta.

Just all around good times. But that Walt Weiss play I think tops them all.

Sorry Shim, they all were good in one way or another. Hard for me to pick just one.
It's really too bad the good times are over but hopefuly, we can start a new dynasty soon. Next year is beginning to look a bit on the downside to me.

But, I can always hope JS retires soon, right?

Good times over???
Yes until we get an owner that can put the cash back it maybe for the Braves.
I just hope Andruw fires BorASS.

Nice to see some oldie but goodies here. Wouldn't it be nice if this board goes back to the good ol' days?

And to answer the question, it is really hard to pick a favorite moment. A couple of moments that I got to see first hand were DeRo's big hit against the Cubs, Furcal's walk-off against the Astros and McCann's homer of Clemens and the Astros.

Before you came to the NL East, I remember rooting for the Braves in the old West. My favorite memory of that was when Francisco Cabrere slid into home againt my (former) sworn enemy Pirates!

Now, of course, you are my sworn enemy. Still hate the Pirates though!

Edited to say that, since it's not obvious from my name, I'm a die-hard Mets fan!

Brad Ausmus homerun in 2005 playoffs. Sorry couldn't resist. I've bllocked out all memory of the Braves in the playoffs before 2004.

Like we've never had those on this board before.

Just kidding. Welcome, CT!

It's good to see some old Braves faces here.

Renee - remember when I actually used to post on the Braves board (whether intelligently or not is up for debate ) ?

Hmm... that's a tough one; it's been awhile since there's been a surplus of happy postseason memories. Probably Bill James completely shutting down the Athletics in Game 2 of the 1914 WS. That kid was a gamer.

I'd have to say the bases loaded walk against the Mets that sent the Braves to the World Series. I think it was Andruw that scored the run.

Andruw drew the walk. He was very happy. Todd Pratt was very sad.

Man, where's mojo risin' when you need her. Todd Pratt was a sexy beast.

And that walk off homer was the same series as the grand slam single. Like I said, '99 is king of the recent post seasons (outside of 95).

My favorite memory?

Just seeing those Yankees burn in hell after that World Series is all that will fill my mind for this time... until the Giants or Braves win another World Series.
