Started this in the Maddux thread, but thought it deserved its own separate billing, since its a subject so near & dear to our hearts. It'll give us something to do on this day with no REAL major sports on.
As we all know Hampy is teetering back towards his next ML outing. Thought it would be interesting to do a pool based on the game "Clue" All entries must be in a Clue format IE Colonel Mustard in the kitchen with a...... For our purposes: When, what affliction & how incurred My guess is: Day after being called back finger cut on a blade of grass while stretching.

Ah that's right Rennster is a child of the video age. There is a great movie by the same name that basically details the game, but in a hilarious way.

Ahh, no, but thanks for the compliment, Nado. I am aware of the game - just never played it. Anyway, seems most of the posters on this forum are of the old geezer variety, myself, excluded, of course. ![]()

"Mike Hampton left his minor-league rehabilitation start with Class AA Mississippi on Wednesday night after only two innings, having tweaked his groin. "He didn't want to take any chances with it," said Nick Skinner, PR director for the Mississippi Braves. "He said his arm felt great.""
He sure didn't want to take any chances with it. He didn't want to take the chance he would be called up to pitch. They ought to put this story in the funnies section of the papers. |

I'd wager I'm younger than you, renny, and I both know of the board-game Clue, and have witnessed the theatrical adaptation starring Tim Curry. I'd say Hampton is more like the film: no matter how you play it, you can't win. |

I'm willing to bet that a micro asteroid will rip the atmosphere off this planet sooner than Hampy coming back to the bigs.
After all that this fella's gone through, I'm not sure I want him pitching again. He'll be about as effective as a wet dish towel. (with apologies to dish towels everywhere) |
