Well, we haven't really developed many good pitchers over the last ten years — Millwood we hung on to for several years, Marquis pitched with us for a few seasons (not exactly "good," but he has been solid some seasons and kept himself around), Wainwright left in the same trade, and Odalis Perez pitched alright for us and decently in his first few seasons in LA.
Still, not the most inspiring list. |

Nice to see Brandon Jones upping our LF-offense a little bit.
Our outfield is pretty abysmal this season: I was embarrassed at Wrigley to sit amongst all those Cubs fans and see the lineup we threw out there (on Tuesday). As for Blanco: I have to say he looked safe on that play, but I don't have a high-resolution feed. (On second look, though, it appears he was out by less than a step.) |

safe ! woot!
I'm starting to think that maybe B Jones wasn't brought up to be showcased - maybe he was just hitting the ball well before he came.

Nice job by Yunel — and I don't even mind that it hurts my pfantasy team and helps you turds (I think pfiggy has Escobar in the pfanhomies).
I am, however, a little pissed that George Brett said Chipper doesn't hit to all fields. Last edited by jpx7; June 14th, 2008 at 07:58 PM. |

Old man Chip loads 'em up and time for Teshy to earn his keep. HBP will do - sorry little Tushy.

Nice piece of hitting by McCain, lunging thought it was.
"Whatchoo doin' loitering over here on a Saturday night? `)" The night is young yet here by the lake – plus I couldn't resist the appeal of a pfirst big-league start. The real question is whether the Braves can create some jubilant draughts, or just more dejected ones . . . the AAA boys are helping the cause. Last edited by jpx7; June 14th, 2008 at 08:17 PM. |

Good for Brandon Jones - his first big league HR. He reminds me alittle of Renteria. I hope he keeps it up. We need the young blood.

What Ervin takes away from me, Kelly Johnson gives back.
"We need the young blood." We also need any semblance of power out there; with the inevitable Kotsay DL-stint – not to mention Francoeur's complete offensive disappearance – starting a "speedster" in LF was just not tenable, despite our powerful infield. Jones isn't Barry Bonds (still out there to be signed!), but he has a hell-of-a-lot more pop than Blanco or Anderson. Last edited by jpx7; June 14th, 2008 at 08:25 PM. |
