I'm ready to see renny's Yuni benched for about a week. He needs a major attitude adjustment (if he keeps showing up the other teams, he's going to get someone hurt, and if he keeps showing up the umps we're never going toget another call), but mainly to make him work on the damned fundamentals when it comes to baserunning and defensive work. It's not like he's hitting right now anyway, so we can lose without him for a few games.
BTW, does his defense remind anyone else of a young Furcal (with a weaker arm)? He makes a lot of spectacular plays, but he flubs up tons of routine plays, and it seems like a majority of those are plays on which he doesn't receive errors because he takes a routine double play and turns it into a single out.

I do have to say, though, that he has convinced me he has more talent than I had previously believed. The inconsistency is what fooled me, I guess. When I saw him in the minors, he always sucked. Now I see that he is awesome as hell for a couple of weeks, then sucks for three, and that he can make three amazing defensive plays and make you forget all about them by running into three unnecessary outs on the basepaths and screwing up three double plays, all in the same game. I just always caught him in the bad portions, I guess.

Well, my son called me from Chicago so I missed the ninth. Good thing or I probably would be banned by now. Nice of Booby to bring in Stockman after we're out of it. Too bad there is no land of Oz. We could sure use a heart, a brain and some courage right about now. Oh well, maybe my Celtics will lift my spirits by slamming the Lakers in four straight. Later, mi amigos.

Oh, and one more thing. This series is the perfect example of a first place team and a pretender. The first place teams find ways to win while we find ways to lose. I sure hope I can hang on long enough to see the Braves play under a different manager.
