Its the Beane /Alderson approach on a Moore's budget (he is in the middle of a divorce after all!)!

Oh & kid, keep dreamin on Peavy cause NY (either team) were never on his wish list. Besides Peavy & Young are both signed 3+ years down the road. Ya gotta have something to rebuild from!

After the Smoltz injury, I'd be all for Maddux coming back. He ain't what he used to be, but you don't have to worry about him getting rattled like you would some AAA callup.

Yeah & he's still Doggie: 68 pitches in 6 inning his last start, but lifted for a pinch hitter in the Bot 6th (no run scored).

So Campillo is starting the nightcap? Considering the Glavine-Maine day game is a likely loss, I sure as hell hope he's up to it....

Da Pads play 20 of their next 23 games at home. If they're buried any deeper in the standings at the end of that, Towers is indicating wholesale changes. With Peavy going to the DL today for elbow soreness, that is a very likely possiblity. Doggie could go on the market quickly for prospects to rebuild.

Ooops the ole blind squirrel found another nut. Glavine shuts out Mutts after shaky 1st & BP holds the line! 6-1 Good guys! Maine gets his 1st loss in a month! This home cooking is more to my liking!

Yeah, this was hiss second start of the season in which he didn't make me nervous as hell (other than that 1st, as you said). He was throwing more strikes today (something he hasn't done much of this year... Prior to today's game: 321 strikes, 253 balls. Today: 54 strikes, 28 balls).

Another nut for the blind squirrel brigade 6-2 good guys! BP starting to settle down & starters getting better.

On the Doggie Front: another ND as the SD O doesn't produce a run til the inning after he leaves.

SD Update: The descent continues for the hapless Pads as Young 's broken nose (brutal watching it live just after our game ended) & the loss of starting C Bard both to Pujols related incidents, leaves Doggie as the best of the rest in the rotation & da Pads a lock to be at least as far out as they are now by the end of the Month (Tower's probation period).

Maybe now they'd like Brayan Peņa and Chuck James for Maddux?

Young is getting a CT scan today & Bard has the dreaded high ankle sprain. Considering ex-Cub Barrett is the guy taking Bard's place, who knows? Going to the game tonight to watch my daughter in the pregame color guard, so I'll see who shows up.

She's a Bravos fan along with her sister, but I don't think the CO of the NJROTC unit would appreciate it!

Damn.... I'm hearing the most likely destination for Doggie is Milwaukee.
