Well, my first thought was "okay, maybe we got someone to platoon with Diaz in left." Then I saw this:

Career splits

vs RH: .259/.343/.445
vs LH: .226/.309/.338

So I guess we just got someone with a mediocre bat (as bench players go) who can backup all four corners. Which isn't terrible, of course, but hardly noteworthy.

Or, as eshaw said..... meh.

Well, his pinch hit single last night plated the winning runs, so Welcome to Atlanta!

Hey, I'm easily won over...

Today's was an odd one. Black makes a pitching change to turn him around with the bases loaded.... by bringing in the righty. Turned him from a .647 OPS guy to a .788 OPS guy.

My God, we won a one run game. The funny part is the Pads intentionally walked French to load the bases to get to Diaz in the 9th. I know, I know--they were trying to create the force at any base. At that point you had to know we were going to win. Anyone know what happened to Reyes?

Bob said he may not even miss a start - took him out just in time. We'll see.

Yeah, Bud Black made some questionable (to say the least) moves in that game. Bringing in a righty to turn Norton around, walking Sir Hacksalot to let Diaz face a lefty....
