So, let's see....
Hampton will make a 70-75 pitch rehab start tomorrow, with the plan being for him to make another on the 5th, and try to make it back to the team on the 10th. Who wants to lay the odds on when he gets hurt again? Tomorrow? The 5th? On the 10th while warming up in the pen before the game? One of the side sessions in-between? While sleeping tonight? When a meteor falls from the sky and strikes his left arm on the 9th?

It has to be tomorrow. Hammy isn't going to take another chance like he did before his last start. Hell, he almost got into that game. He'll find his comfort zone real quick tomorrow and start grimacing while warming up again. OR, he'll develop index finger and thumb-itis from counting his money. Somewhere in Vegas they have to have a line on this soap opera star. If I find it, I'm rich.

Smoltz willing to rejoin Braves' bullpen | ajc.com
After going on the disabled list Tuesday with inflammation in the rotator cuff and a biceps tendon in his pitching arm, Smoltz said it's possible he would return to the closer role where he dominated during the 2002-04 seasons. "Yes," he said during a phone interview Tuesday night. "Right now I'm sitting at ground zero, taking it day by day, looking at every option to help this team get to the playoffs and end my career the way I'd like to end it."

No way - GBF - better these injuries creep up early in the season, as opposed to September. That said, it will be an uphill climb for awhile and we might even scrape bottom before that begins. This team has yet to see all parts click - if we get to that point, we could easily make up ground quickly.
Thank goodness our division is pretty competitive, (so far). All bets are off should we lose either Smoltz or Hudson for the season, though.

I see Bennett did a shade too much blow in the pen before coming in this evening.
