I like Thorman as a fourth outfielder and back up 1B. Remember he's played Left for us before. He appears to have a lot of heart and power for that matter. I would try to get him on the field somehow. Tex is going to play everyday so hes got to get his abs somehow.

I'd like him alright as a sixth outfielder and third first baseman, getting two or three plate appearances a year and never stepping on the field defensively.

Takes more than flashes to stay in a BIG league lineup. Kinda like Punkin I (Thomas)& II (Harris) to me; a couple of spurts but no real consistency.
Klesko!? (With apologies to ERa) was never going to be a solid player at any position, & once MLB pitchers got the down & in/away pitch thing working on him, he was a non factor. When he was traded from da Bravos, I told my Pad fan friends, they'd gotten a pig in the poke.

We were laying odds during spring training on when we'd be wanting Salty called up and put at first because we fully expected Thorman to suck, and other than a few PAs in April, he did. Klesko has never had one single season in which he was even close to as bad as Thorman has been each of the last two years, and he came to the bigs when he was three years younger.

Not to beat the point to death, but....
Klesko's career big league line: .279/.370/.500/.870 Thorman's career minor league line: .276/.340/.452/.792 Thorman couldn't even hit minor league pitching as well as Klesko has hit big league pitching.
