Why doesn't he just swallow his pride and admit he had a horrible year last year? Get in shape for once and sign a 1 year deal with ATL and go proove himself.

Because Torii Hunter just got 5 yrs and $90 million, which means Andruw is now worth something like 7 yrs and $140 million.

I don't think the eating is the problem so much as the obsessions with video games and remote control cars. That sedentary lifestyle will get you.

"I didn't get the sense we could get something done," Melvin said. Things remain quiet on the Jones front, and it could stay that way until Aaron Rowand signs. That Torii Hunter went to the Angels instead of the one of the teams with greater need of a center fielder (the White Sox, Rangers, Dodgers, etc.) would seem to help Jones' case for a big contract, but there's been little indication so far that it's made a difference.

With his all-or-nothing style of hitting, I believe he'd be absolutely horrible in Chavez Ravine. It's not the pitcher's haven it used to be, but it's still a much better park for doubles than it is for homers.

I kinda doubt he'd take a two year deal. Although it is 16 million which is nothing to sneeze that...unless those bills are covered in pollen that is.

After the season he had, he should do cartwheels to the Dodger's front office and kiss every butt along the way for a contract offer like that. Only in baseball.
