The Tigers reportedly plan on making Zumaya closer next year, and Todd Jones first choice is (again, reportedly) Atlanta.
Wonder if he expects to continue closing? Were he willing to be a middle reliever I wouldn't mind that signing at all.

And in the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot moment of the offseason, the D'Rays are reportedly shopping Kazmir, the Orioles are shopping Bedard, and the Giants want to trade Lincecum for Carl Crawford.
Idiots.

No clue... just the beginnings of rumour at the moment. The only one I've seen anything else attached to is the fact that the Giants want to try to use Lincecum to get Crawford.

Is it a possibility that the Braves will sign Todd Jones this offseason for bullpen depth? -- Matt I., Waverly, Va. Before it was learned that Joel Zumaya might miss the entire 2008 season with a shoulder injury, I thought there was at least a slight chance Jones could end up in Atlanta. The veteran reliever, who has converted at least 37 saves for the Tigers each of the past three years, has always made it known that he'd like to pitch for the Braves. But now that they're planning around Zumaya's absence, I think the Tigers will provide Jones much more than the Braves are willing to offer. At the same time, they can offer him a chance to close. For now, the Braves have every reason to believe that Rafael Soriano will be an effective closer. With Mike Gonzalez out until June while recovering from Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery, there was at least reason to wonder if the Braves would attempt to bring Jones in to serve as a setup man. But at the same time, they have every reason to believe Peter Moylan will be able to handle that role.

Yeah, according to the doc, Zumaya's shoulder is really screwed. He said the damage is a 5 on a 1-5 scale, and is the worst he's ever seen. He then went on to say on that same scale he would've given Caminiti's shoulder injury a 3.
