None of them were A prospects so it really doesn't matter this year. Now in the past when JS didn't offer some of them arbitration, I had a real problem with it. I guess after the Maddux thing he is a little scared now.

Not resigning Thomson was dumb. He said he would take less to stay AND he said he was willing to go to the pen. He would immediately have been the best guy there not named "Wickman" and would have been an excellent replacement when one of our geriatric starters inevitably goes down.

Dumb.

Who said front office moves are supposed to buttressed by logic and reason?

Exactly, Meta. Thomson should have been brought back.

Persoanlly, I really like him as a pitcher and a guy to have in the club house, but I think he would hav been the first geriatric pitcher to go down. Also, I think it is a big question as to how effective he would have been coming out of the pen.

I thought Ward was going to get an offer.

Thompson was a good guy,but easily replaceable.

Ward seemed to do OK down the stretch but it was a small sample size. They may still sign him but he is easily replacable.
