D-Backs, Byrnes agree on one-year contract | EastValleyTribune.com

East Valley Tribune: "The Diamondbacks finished their offseason business with a week to spare by signing record-setting outfielder Eric Byrnes to a one-year, $4.575 million contract on Wednesday... Byrnes will be a free agent next season, and while Josh Byrnes said he does not foresee reopening discussions on a long-term deal this season, he did say Eric Byrnes remains an option in 2008."

Byrnes OKs 1-year deal

Arizona Republic (registration required): "The Diamondbacks took care of their last remaining arbitration-eligible player on Tuesday by agreeing with Eric Byrnes on a one-year deal, but it continues to look as if the hard-nosed outfielder will be testing the free-agent market after this season."
