Default Mark Mulder Meets With Diamondbacks

Quote:
PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks met with free-agent pitcher Mark Mulder and could be interested in signing the left-hander.

D-Backs meet with Mulder, may take chance on lefty

So, Diamondbacks fans, what do you think your teams chances of signing Mark Mulder are and would you like the signing if it came true?

As a Mets fan, I want Omar Minaya to look into signing Mulder. I think he would be a nice addition to any teams starting rotation. Of course, he needs to stay healthy.

I'm curious as to why the Cards aren't interested in signing him. Anyone know?

Mulder's salary demands are likely to be so far out-of-line with his actual quality and health that I'm sure the Cardinals are smart enough not to make that move. Considering Zito's contract, Mulder is likely to want at least half of that. If the Cards wouldn't re-sign Jeff Suppan at that money, I suspect that Mulder is out of the question.

On the other hand, the D-Backs seem to be willing to take a shot with every injured knee, hip, wrist and bicep. Maybe their experience with Luis Gonzalez have made them think they have something special in the doctor's office.
