Scott Niedermayer Suspended
It's just a formality as a result of not showing up at camp, but the Ducks have officially suspended Scott Niedermayer. Obviously, he hasn't decided what his future will be in terms of his hockey career, and so the Ducks have placed him on suspension.
TSN : NHL - Canada's Sports Leader Note -- this is more to stir up conversation in the hockey forums than anything else, but as this is about the only real news just now...well, here it is.

They had to. i think he'll retire though he still is a great player and can still play.

I'm not sure. Part of me wants to see him go one more year, and another part of me thinks he's had a great career and should retire if he wants to. He's got a career that anyone would be proud of, so there's little else for him to accomplish.

If he does retire hell be in the Hall of fame in 3 years.

I agree with that. He's definitely got the quality to get him into the HoF, and it'd probably happen fairly quickly while the press is still talking about him...
