Todd Bertuzzi is re-uniting with Anaheim Ducks general manager Brian Burke, signing a two-year, $8-million deal with the Ducks.
Bertuzzi, 32, played in only 15 regular season games with the Florida Panthers and Detroit Red Wings last season because of a herniated disk in his back. The 6-foot-3, 245-pound winger tallied 11 points in the regular season before adding four points in eight playoff games. "Todd Bertuzzi is a hard-nosed, physical player and a proven goal-scorer," said Burke. "Adding another imposing presence to our lineup with scoring touch is something we could not pass up." Bertuzzi scored a career-high 97 points with the Vancouver Canucks in 2002-2003, where Burke was the general manager, but has been unable to match that production since. ![]() |
