Default Preds plan to sell to local group for 193 million

Things in Nashville are starting to look up for the Preds organization and I have to say that everyone who stepped up to fight to keep our team in Nashville deserves a huge kudo with the biggest kudos going to this local group of 8.

Nashville can sustain another major sport and will prove it in due time.

here's the story:

Group put down $10 million deposit, signed letter of intent to buy Preds

The Nashville Predators have signed a letter of intent to sell the team to a local group of investors trying to keep the NHL franchise from leaving town.

The group of eight partners plan to pay $193 million, owner Craig Leipold said. One of the partners, David Freeman, chief executive officer of 36 Venture Capital LLC, has put down a $10 million deposit to make sure the deal is completed.

The only partner from outside the Nashville area is William "Boots" Del Biaggio III, a California venture capitalist who is a part-owner of the San Jose Sharks.

"I'm excited to pass the torch to David and to Boots and their group. I know that they are all committed to Nashville," Leipold said.
