if arod played last year like he did this year, you have one situation where a dh wins mvp. if boston doesn't tank it this year, you've got another situation. it's clearly possible for a dh to win mvp. but the circumstances need to line up.

and don baylor did win while dh'ing 65 games.

your argument is really that bad fielders add no more value by simply playing the field than a dh.
