Default Most devastating loss in your teams history

Last week, McCarver went into what he thought the Phillies franchise most devastating loss was. 1977 NLCS - Game 3. That was pretty bad. The series was tied 1-1, the Phils had a 5-3 lead with LA up in the top of the 9th with 2 out - nobody on. They pushed 3 runs across with 4 hits, and one very questionable call that would have ended the game. LA won the game and the series.

For my Mets, I think 1988 NLCS - Game 4 has to rate pretty high - Mike Scioscia's 2-run HR in the 9th to tie the game, LA won in extra inn. to snatch the 3-1 series lead away from NY and the Mets lost in 7.

The Red Sox might need their own thread.
