Oakland expands its lead to 4-2 in the 8th.

Youkilis made a bone-headed move. With runners at 1st and 2nd, Mark Ellis grounded to Youkilis at third. Instead of simply touching third base for the second out of the inning, he made a bad throw to Pedroia at second. The throw pulled Pedroia off the bag prematurely and everybody was safe on the play. The next batter then hit a sac fly to Ramirez for the insurance run.

Old friend Alan Embree now pitching for the A's in the 9th. David Ortiz leads off with a double...how big is that Youkilis error looming now?
