1922: The Phils lose a 19-7 game to host St. Louis, who score in every inning but the fifth. Third baseman Goldie Rapp was injured while diving headfirst into the concrete bench in the St. Louis dugout in pursuit of a foul ball.
1922: Pitcher Tom Sullivan hits a home run in his major-league debut -- only the second Phillie hurler to do so. It couldn't make up for his pitching performance, though: in 6 2/3 innings of relief, he allowed 11 runs on 15 hits and 2 walks.
1960: Reds pitcher Raul Sanchez hits Phils pitcher Gene Conley with a pitch -- the third Phillie batter to be hit in the inning
