Yo, so one nice article on him and he dings his thumb.
Reports say it is minor. Sure it is.
Oh, well, here's hoping that we don't lose his hot bat at this point for any amount of time. These guys are coming around at the plate but we still need to get some more runs. KC is fun to beat up on, but we have much bigger fish to fry.
We need to play the Tribe competitively this weekend, as this series is a big barometer of where we are and where we are headed. If the starting pitching can keep pace, and if we keep getting contributions from the new guys and get folks healthy, then we should be able to win a few more series in the upcoming weeks and keep pressure on the Halos.
BTW, I was searching the internet about injuries and came upon an article about the A's and their injuries in 2004. It was thought at that time that it was the worst it has ever been with 4 key players on the DL, with Crosby, Harden, Chavez and Ellis all hurt. Man, little did we know that at one point early in this 2007 season, we would have 7 on the DL at one time. As long as we keep getting them all back to make some kind of contribution we should be strong by the second half with lots of depth, both on the major league roster and up in Sacto.
Unfortunately, there is not enough room for everyone. What a pleasant dilemma to find ourselves in if that occurs.
Let's Go A's!
Later,
RDB
