Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams served up that Carter bomb.

I've never seen a rotisserie league with "holds" as a category. Advice: take a pass on LaTroy Hawkins. I'd like Bobby Howry. You want a guy who's been consistent but is either behind a "proven closer" on the depth chart or a guy who is consistent but is labeled as not being "closer material." Corpas could be a sleeper pickup.

I'd avoid Cabrera because: (1) AL pitcher; (2) in the AL east; (3) in a tough park. In real life, I like him a lot, and I think he's turning the corner and becoming very good right now.

If you're playing in old-style rotisserie leagues, you've got to keep an eye on the minimum innings requirements for pitchers. For example, if your league requires at least 4 pitchers who will have 100 innings by the end of the season, the best strategy is usually to stop worrying about "wins" (too unpredictable, roto leagues following real life), and try to keep 2 or 3 solid starters. The only times I've actually finished in the money in leagues was when I took a flyer on a midseason call-up or someone who may be converted to a starter. I remember picking up a kid named Pedro Martinez early in '93 ... and then followed that up with Aaron Sele in August. That's my most lucrative season ever ... I don't even play anymore.

As for the Marlins: they picked up Jorge Julio to close, and he was (not unexpectedly) horrible. Nolasco was thought to be a possible closer, but he's on the DL. At this point, it's a real crapshoot.
