No, I am just fine with Gary Bettman. The league got a salary cap and the league endeavored to improve the game. While Versus hasn't panned out the way they wanted it to; the league had very little choice to begin with. ESPN didn't want the NHL; they made that more or less clear BEFORE the lockout forcing the league to seek another station. Versus seemed eager and has made efforts to improve its coverage.

Let's face it, its a hyper competitive sports market out there...and the prevalence of cable TV gives viewers that many more choices. Virtually all sports are seeing ratings go down the last few years. Even the mighty NFL is seeing its ratings slip a bit. Hockey has always been a niche sport in the United States and the league constantly fights an uphill battle. I think Bettman is doing just fine. It could be worse; it could be Bud Selig. Just a thought...
