The Baltimore Ravens have less than $3 million in cap room for next season, so are undecided whether to use the franchise tag on All-Pro linebacker Adalius Thomas. They can keep him from becoming a free agent by paying him $7.2 million.

The team can free up $3.3 million in cap room if they cut running back Jamal Lewis, as expected, before he receives a $5 million roster bonus next month

I fully expect Jamal to be cut loose so that we can make some sort of move somewhere... We have depth at the RB position and I am not sold that Jamal is the Jamal of old anyway....

There is also talk coming out that Ogden is contemplating retirement... which would leave us with another gaping hole on offense.... and we also cannot forget that it is a distint possibility that Adalius will also be gone... granted we have nice depth at LB and we always seem to have someone step up, but Thomas is a definite gem of a defensive player
