CONMEBOL's National Championship has two invitees this year (USA and Mexico) and is hosted in Venezuela. With Powerhouses Argentina and Brazil as the obvious favorites, this could be a good test for the Americans. Brazil's Group B is considered the toughest in the Reuters peice on the draw announcement.

Colombia

Top 2 from each group advance as well as the best 2 3rd places advance.

So I would love to think that the US will advance to the next round. This competition should be a good test for the team with plenty of World Cup quality matches.
