I'm of two minds about ARod.
1) He is truly still a great player, and should probably get moved back to SS. He would give the Sox the best 3-6 in baseball and the Sox might well set records for runs scored. Taking him the yankees and having him beat the hell out of them would be great.
2) He doesn't help the Sox bullpen very much. Media would be brutal. I'm not sure what it would take to sign him - it's hard for me to believe he would get *more* than $25M. I don't see the Yankees re-signing him if he does opt out, because if he does, the Yankees would have to pay full price for him - much more likely that if he does stay with the Yankees, it's some form of contract extension. Yankees could just give him $4M/yr more and still pay less than anyone else would.
That said - I'm not sure he gets $25M a yr.
