Usually owners backing you up are the kiss of deaths for coaches but I believe Dolan and further more I THINK its a good idea to bring Isiah back. The players are just playing hard for him, you can see the difference from last year.
Hopefully Dolan keeps his word and Isiah is back next year.
BUT 1 thing I would NOT be opposed to is getting a new GM. I like Isiah as a coach but as a GM he is pretty bad aside from his draft picks which are excellent.

If the Knicks are going to keep Isaiah at all, it can only be as a coach. He is a terrible gm, and it's one of those sports mysteries how he still has his job.
I will admit, the team's performance lately has surprised me, though I still wouldn't be surprised if they went through a big slump at some point in the second half. This team is playing far better under IT than under Larry Brown.
Larry Brown as coach of the Knicks was one of the more ill-conceived coaching hires I've ever seen, especially at the price they paid for him.
