Bernie was obviously a great Yankee, one of the cornerstones of the rebirth of the franchise. However, he doesn't have a spot on this team. At best he'd be the 5th OFer, and he can't pinch-run, isn't fond of pinch-hitting, and to say that his defense is average would be a stretch. Sadly, his time as a Yankee has come to a close.
