Predators storyline: Nashville will visit Mellon Arena for the first time since March 4, 2004. … The Predators will face former teammate Mark Eaton for the first time since the defenseman joined Pittsburgh as a free agent signee this summer. … Nashville has not lost a game to the Penguins since Oct. 8, 2000. There was one tie.

Penguins storyline: The Penguins are playing their fourth game in six days. … Pittsburgh had its six-game winning streak snapped Sunday with a 4-3 overtime loss in Montreal, but has picked up points in each of its last 10 games. … Center Sidney Crosby leads the NHL in scoring with 84 points in 49 games. … Rookie Evgeni Malkin has recorded a point in four-consecutive games and leads NHL rookies with 57 points.

Predators injuries: RW Jordin Tootoo (hip) and D Shea Weber (jaw) are out.

Penguins injuries: RW Colby Armstrong (knee) is questionable.
