What, RMF, you don't believe that if Vernon Wells had been on the market this winter the Rockies would've paid him $15 million a year?

Actually, Ringolsby's mention of Wells as a "difference maker" who might've justified entering the free agent market is interesting ... isn't JP Ricciardi the official whipping boy of our very own Cowboy?

This is the kind of Ringolsby article that is infuriating. Not that he doesn't have a valid point. He does: if there was ever a year to sit out the free agent market, this may have been it. There really was no "difference maker" out there. But why blend this valid point with b.s. about Monfort opening up the pursestrings next year? Surely he knows Monfort won't spring for a big time free agent, so does he think he's kidding? Or is he just doing PR work for the Rockies again ....
