I just took a look at Todd's platoon splits.

Get this: so far this year he has ONE extra-base hit (76 PA) against lefties -- a HR. No doubles.

Small sample, yes. But other than the early 2000s, he's always exhibited a platoon split as we might expect. That's no problem when you put up a 1050 OPS and righties and a 900 OPS against lefties. But we're seeing the same kind of spread now, only shifted downward: ~830 vs. 685. The time has come to give Todd some days off against lefties. Too bad we don't exactly have a lefty killer to go to off the bench. Still, we gotta be able to outdo a 700 OPS from our first baseman, right?
