Dave, I love McClane too and that was why I hated this movie so much: It wasn't John McClane I was seeing on screen. It was a caricature. Where the brazen smartass would be bringing up how the heck he finds himself in situations like this, instead we have him delievering a minimalist dialog and playing the Energizer bunny.
That's not even getting on the villain (can't get intimidated by the "Begin the download" threat). Or the fact the "Die hard on a" motif of these films was shot to hell
