Carbo's chosen his goalie for Game 5
by Dave Stubbs
Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau has decided on his starting goaltender – either Carey Price or Jaroslav Halak – for Saturday’s pivotal fifth game of the Eastern Conference semifinal against Philadelphia. He just doesn’t want to reveal his choice to the media.
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to Carey or Jaro. I want to make sure they’re the first to know,” Carbonneau said this afternoon during a conference call that lasted nearly 25 minutes.
The call was in lieu of practice, the coach thinking it more important his team enjoy a day away from the rink. They must win the next three games against the Flyers, over a four-day span, to advance. Only once in the franchise’s history – 2004 against Boston – has that occurred.
Carbonneau also denied speculation Price, who didn’t play Wednesday, is suffering from a hand injury. "Carey Price is not hurt – not his finger, hand, shoulder or knee,” the coach stressed. “He has no injuries.”
