Itunes isn't recognizing that the IPOD even exists... it's the 5th edition video IPOD and the latest version of Itunes...

The error message is not from Apple, however. It reads like this.

I have tried to google the problem and the only resolution seems to be re-installing the OS, which is ridiculous and far from where I need to go.

IPOD/APPLE can't/won't help because it's a microsoft problem.

The IPOD works fine on the laptop, but not the desktop, which is where the error message pops up time and time again.

Anyone have any ideas?
