The Gap illustration above is the Hunter-Gatherer difference that evolved through practical need. The woman goes to the store to survey the field and gather what looks useful. The man goes to the store to hunt for what is on the shopping list and brings it down.

What is often misunderstood is that the differnce between men's and women's behavior evolved because there was a need for them to function in a division-or-labor environment. If any man is better suited to carry out the functions normally done by women, a family unit would have two people suited to performing one task, and none the other. Darwinian selection (or God) knows what it is doing.
