This is one of those cases where hype affected the way I reacted to a movie. If I hadn't heard and read about this movie, I would have enjoyed it more.
I thought the characters were took clever by half, too hip by double and too cliche by far too much. I found only one moment (when Juno tells Bleeker that he's cool without trying, and his response) to really well-scripted and acted ... which made it stand out from the stereotypes.
I'm a fan of JK Simmons, yet found him painful in this role ... especially in the scene where he and Juno meet the adoptive parents for the first time. Ellen Page was channeling Jeneane Garrofolo.
Individual moments were decent, some of the dialogue was witty, but it didn't add up to a movie I'd want to see again.
The soundtrack, however, was terrific.
