I like this deal for both sides. Key players in the Dallas nucleus are on the wrong side of 30, and adding Jason Kidd to a team that already includes Jason Terry, makes Devin Harris expendable. If the Mavericks really want Harris for the future, they can still sign him in a couple years as a free agent (once they're done with Kidd.)
The other players involved can be easily replaced by Dallas which now becomes a more attractive destination for veterans looking to sign on the cheap with a championship contender.
I think Dallas had to make a move in the wake of the Laker and Sun deals. That team was getting a tad too complacent.
Here are my questions: does Jason Kidd still get to play for the Eastern Conference in the All-Star game? Does he still get credited with an All-Star appearance even if he doesn't get to play?
