Default Derek Anderson and RFA

DA is a Restricted Free Agent this off-season, so what should the Browns do with him? They could give him the highest tender, which would force another team to give the Browns a 1st and 3rd round draft pick to sign DA. The Browns could also sign DA long term and keep him or trade him.
Honestly, I don't like DA a lot, because he seems to be too much of a vertical passer, which tends to make him 'erratic.' Once teams started adding extra coverage deep against the Browns, DA started to play worse. He isn't very good at passing short, so he was rendered almost useless when he didn't have the long ball to go to. Obviously, other teams should know this, but I would like to see the Browns tender DA at the highest tender, and try to trade him. I'm not focused on receiving a top 10 first round pick due to the amount of money tied up in those picks, but I would like to see the Browns get some help for their defense (through draft picks).
I don't want to anoint Brady Quinn as the next great QB, but I don't have faith in DA being anything more than a big-armed QB.

What are your thoughts on DA and what the Browns should do with him?
