Gonzalez is a power pitcher who could really help the Yankees, but I'm concerned about his elbow and I don't think it's smart to give up Melky unless it's for overwhelming compensation.
Simply on a cost-value basis, I think the previously rumored deal of Kevin Thompson for Damaso Marte would be a better value.
Why not re-sign Villone?
