Snelling has proven nothing so far, so I don't see how you can have such high expectations of him. Vidro has proven two things; one that he is a great player when healthy, and the other is that he has had a hard time staying healthy. The gamble is that he will be able to stay healthy next year. If he does, Seattle comes out way ahead. If he doesn't they loose in this trade.
Snelling has just as big of a problem with injuries, so that factor is a wash as far as I can see. I guess it all boils down to if you want an outfielder or an infielder.
