Predators defenseman Mikko Lehtonen is scheduled to head for Milwaukee of the American Hockey League this morning, preparing for a four-game conditioning stint that will begin tonight.
Lehtonen won't have to clear NHL waivers because the reassignment is only for conditioning purposes.
He was a healthy scratch for the fourth straight game on Monday and Predators Coach Barry Trotz said the move is designed to get Lehtonen some playing time.
This is the first season in North America for the 6-foot-1, 194-pound Lehtonen, who has played in 15 Predators games, posting one goal and two assists.
