Default Cowboys vs. Packers

First of all, let me identify myself as a lifelong Cowboys fan.

These two teams continue to win in grand fashion. Each has had one loss where they didn't play their best football, with Dallas' loss coming at the hands of New England - who everyone must regard as the best team in football until someone can beat them! I know I'm getting a bit ahead of myself since this game is three weeks away, but I believe they will meet in Dallas each with 10-1 records.

Packers' schedule before playing the Cowboys:

CAROLINA (4-5)
@ Detriot (6-3)

Cowboys' schedule before playing the Packers:

WASHINGTON (5-4)
NY JETS (1-8)

The Cowboys seem to have the upper hand here, since the Packers have a harder schedule and the game on November 29th is in Dallas.

Everyone seems to think the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC right now regardless of the fact that Green Bay has an equivilent record. If you believe that, you'd have to think Dallas ends up 11-1 after this game while Green Bay falls to 10-2 and pretty much loses any hope of home field advantage in the playoffs. However, I worry about this game. Dallas hasn't been the best at controlling quarterbacks this season (see Tom Brady) and Brett Favre is the best QB in the league. While I think Dallas and Green Bay are obviously the two best teams in the NFC, I don't think we can clearly say that one is better than another until this game is played.

I do think that whoever wins this game will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. Going into the other team's stadium and winning in the playoffs will probably be too much to ask of either team, although both are very good on the road.
