The
official PR states that the new name 'Rays' reflects "a beacon that radiates throughout Tampa Bay and across the entire state of Florida". I assume that means like sunrays - even though they will still wear an updated Devil Ray patch on their sleeves. But, whatever...
They should've somehow incorporated the yellow sunray on their logo into their hats. Its really boring:
